Keygeek Y3X is not an upgrade to the Keygeek Y3 — the two cover different sound and typing spectra. Where the classic Y3 is the go-to for a creamy, thocky switch, the Y3X was designed to sound thocky and poppy at the same time, sitting slightly louder and poppier than the Y3.

The Y3X uses a spherical stem tip paired with a spherical bottom-housing contact point — the same approach as the Keygeek Butterfly switch — which gives it a mellower, softer bottom-out feel than the Y3 despite the poppier sound.

Both the top and bottom housings are PA66, and the stem is M5 POM on a KOS extended single-stage spring. With a 48g operating force and 53g bottom-out force, it sits in the sweet spot between light typing switches and heavier gaming picks — a confident, weighty press that still returns quickly. Every switch comes comprehensively factory lubed, so it's smooth and ready to use straight out of the bag.

The Y3X is an MX-style switch and fits mechanical keyboards that accept standard MX-format switches — including hot-swappable boards.
