The UR Studio Ice Ultra is a magnetic Hall Effect switch: a magnet in the stem and a sensor in the keyboard track exactly how far down each key is, hundreds of times a second. That is what makes rapid trigger and adjustable actuation possible — press or release a fraction of a millimetre and the keyboard responds instantly.
It is the most supportive switch in our Hall Effect line-up: light at the top of the press, then climbing to the firmest bottom-out in the range at 48gf on a long 22mm spring. The switch pushes back as you press deep, so heavy typists get a clear stopping point instead of slamming into the plate. Fully clear housing with dual light guides carries RGB cleanly.
Before you order: Hall Effect switches only work in Hall Effect keyboards (for example boards built around the Gateron GT60 Pro magnetic PCB, or HE boards from Wooting, Keychron, MonsGeek and similar). In a regular MX board they will fit the socket but register nothing. If you are not sure whether your board supports them, check the board's supported-switch list or ask us first.
